Pre-treatment of vermiculite using milling and microwave techniques
Original language description
Vermiculite, a hydrous aluminium phyllosilicate, was treated using several milling techniques to obtain decreased particle size. Decreased and uniform particle size is required for following applications. There are many different types of grinding millsfor example jet mill, ball mill or vibratory mill. A grinding mill is a unit operation designed to break a solid material into smaller pieces that is needed for further treatment of vermiculite. Outside this technique is able to use microwave technique or ultrasonic treatment.
