DYNAMICS OF A ROTOR SYSTEM SUPPORTED BY RADIAL ACTIVE MAGNETIC BEARINGS UNDER UNDESIRABLE OPERATING CONDITIONS
Original language description
In order to correctly diagnose faults, the basic dynamic behaviour of a rotor system supported by active magnetic bearings with a fatigue crack must be first studied, since many differences in the responses between conventional and active rotor systems exist. The submitted paper presents investigation of a rotor system with one transverse fatigue crack and with two transverse fatigue cracks. The influence of breathing cracks on the steady-response of a rotor system excited by centrifugal forces and by aharmonic kinematic excitation is shown through computer simulations. The partial opening and closing of cracks is considered by means of status of stress intensity factor along cracks edges. The response of the rotor system is obtained by direct integration of equations of motion. The influence of the different depths of cracks is investigated with help of frequency spectra, time domain responses and orbit plots.
