Hydrogen production from methanol photocatalytic oxidation in presence of TiO2 modified by F and La
Original language description
The photocatalytic oxidation of methanol-water solution was performed in a homemade stirred cylindrical batch photoreactor with a quartz glass window on top in the photoreactor's cover. An 8 W Hg UVA lamp (λ max = 365 nm) was used as an irradiation source. The photocatalyst (1g.L -1 ) was suspended in 100 mL of the methanol-water solution (12 M). Magnetic stirrer mixed the suspension to prevent photocatalyst's sedimentation. Before the irradiation, an argon was purged through the methanol-water suspension to remove air (at least 35 min). The gas samples were analyzed by a GC/BID (barrier discharge detector). The first sample was analyzed before the reaction (0 h) and next samples were analyzed each hour after switching on the UVA lamp during the photocatalytic experiment (0-4 h).
