Properties and reactivity of Co-based mixed oxides in direct NO decomposition
Original language description
This work was presented as a poster on the catalytic conference. Nitric oxide (NO) is one of the oxides from a group known as NOx (NO, NO2). Direct decomposition of NO to N2 and O2 takes place at high temperatures (1100-1300 oC) or the catalyst has to be used to increase reaction rate. Although many catalysts have been already tested (noble metals, metal oxides, zeolites), the development of active and stable catalyst still remains a challenging subject of basic research. In our previous studies, the addition of potassium promoter showed to be the key factor for catalytic activity of Co-base mixed oxides in direct NO decomposition reaction. The optimal amount of K promoter was determined as 2 wt.%.
