THz Band nanoantennas for Future Mobile Communication
Original language description
The 5G mobile communication in the next decade is going to require 1000 times larger bandwidth and 100 times more speed to cover large number of applications of future cell phones. One of the expected techniques to fulfill these requirements is going tobe THz band mobile communication. This would certainly require THz band nanoantennas. The focus of this paper is to present the basic concept of 5G mobile communication system involving nanoantenna in brief and detailed discussion of THz band nanoantennas. It covers the basic concept, analysis, design considerations and effect of various parameters on the antenna performance. It also discusses the formation of Surface Plasmons (SPs) at the interface of metal-dielectrics and existence of Surface PlasmonPolariton (SPP) resonances. The plasmonic activity at the interface of metal-dielectrics is heavily affected by the size of antenna and selection of metal and dielectrics. The simulation results have been obtained for radiation patterns,
