Aim: The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of autologous transplantation of mononuc1ear bone marrow cells on myocardial function in patients with left ventricular dysfunction due to an acute myocardial infarction. Methods: The randomized.multicenter study included 82 patients with a first acute myocardial infarction treated with primary coronary angioplasty with a stem implantation. Only patients with the evidence of an irreversible damage of at least 2 akinetic or dyskinetic myocardialsegments were included. This presentation is a subanalysis of 47 patients with significant lett ventricle dysfunction - ejection fraction :::::401J1:. Group T patients (n=30) received either high number (100000000) of cells (n=17) or low number (10000000) of cel!s (n= 13). The patients 01 control Group C (n=17) were not tteated with cells.
