Influence of Circulating Cell-derived Microparticles on Thrombin Generation in Thrombophilia Patients
Original language description
Thrombin generation test (TGT) was developed several years ago to mimic physiological coagulation. It can be used in many applications including assessment of thrombophilia state. We used this test for observation of influence of cell-derived microparticles, platelet (PMP) and endothelias (EMP), on thrombin generation in patients with good defined thrombophilia state such as Factor V Leiden (FVL) mutation. We evaluated thrombin generation parametres in samples with and without microparticles and determined their influence on clinical course of thrombophilia state in group of 25 carriers of heterozygous form of FVL. We found significant correlation between amount of generated thrombin and microparticles level. Patients with higher thrombin generation were more often affected by thrombotic complication.
