Adiponectin in members of families with familial combined hyperlipidemia
Original language description
The aim of this study was to evaluate the plasma levels of adiponectin in asymptomatic, nonsmoking members of familics with familial combined hyperlipidemia (FCH). We investigated the association between adiponectin and selected risk factors for atherosclerosis, markers of insulin resistance, and inflammation. A total of 82 members of 29 FCH families were divided into 2 groups. HL (probands and hyperlipidemic first-degree relatives, n=47) and NL (normolipidemic first-degree relatives, n=35).
