The Theory of Inventive Problem Solving, TRIZ, is a systematic, knowledge-based procedure for accelerating innovation. The Contradiction Matrix and 40 Inventive Principles are the simplest TRIZ tools that have been used successfully in many technical and non-technical fields; however, TRIZ has not been systematically used to solve genetics diagnostics challenges. In this paperI tested by laboratory examination and literature/patent searches whether 40 Inventive Principles were used in molecular genetics laboratories and whetherit is possible to derive post hoc Primary Parameter and Conflicting Parameter of the Contradiction Matrix forthese Principles.
