Engineer’s task is to analyse the technical problem situation, then to give verbal and visual problem description, to solve the problem and to improve the original situation. One of very useful tools which can help to analyse and to solve technical problems is the TRIZ/TIPS - Theory of Inventive Problem Solving - methodology supported by unique software. This contribution in the form of a case study presents partial application of TRIZ methodology for increasing the productivity of pressing ceramic cores. It gives a practical demonstration of successful innovation based on the systematic analysis of the problem and the use of inventive principles recommended to solvers for finding real inventive solution
