Prosodic effect on VOT of English /p/ and /k/ in nonnative English
Original language description
Two experiments test effects of prosody on VOT of English voiceless stops in speech of 90 Czech EFL learners. Experiment 1 shows that VOT in nonnative speech is sensitive to stress. Experiment 2 demontrates that Czech learners do not vary VOT according to the position of the stop at the beginning of a word, intonation phrase and utterance.
