An electronic version of the encyclopedic entry on Eiichi Chino, one of the Japanese Bohemicists, who taught Czech language, published a series of essays on various aspects of Czech cultural and political life and translated into Japenese a variety of text genres ranging from books for children to film scripts. What brought Chino fame and admiration, however, were above all his translations of canonical Czech literature (Čapek, Kafka,M. Kundera, O. Pavel).
