In the introductory chapter entitled Ways of LIfe in the Late Modernity, Helena Kubatova writes that if we want to address the ways of life in the late modernity and try to demonstrate what it means to people and their lifestyles to live in a late modernsociety, we have to try to define, at least generally, the concept of a way of life, place this concept within the context of late modernity, and point to the plurality of lifestyles in late modernity. In the first part of the chapter, she is thus concerned with the definition of way of life or lifestyle, in the second part she focuses on the categorization of sociological theories of lifestyles, and in the third part she deals with three typical late modern lifestyles.
