    The theme of the 9th Annual Conference on Cultural and Social Anthropology of East Asia was focused on contemporary trends in Chinese, Japanese, Korean and other East Asian societies. The presented papers dealt especially with China and Japan, but also Tibet, South and North Korea in the following areas: Identities and Ethnicities, Contemporary Changes in China, Social Changes, Religions and Beliefs, Arts and Fictions, and Languages. The participants included researchers from European countries (Slovakia, Poland, Austria, Rumania, Belarus, France) as well as overseas (Taiwan, Hong Kong).
