    Study examines controversial involvement of Roman Jakobson in political and diplomatical negotiations between Czechoslovakia and Soviet Union in interwar period. After WWII did Jakobson his every effort to return to his university career Czechoslovakia,but his plans were frustrated. It was not until 1957 and 1968 when he was allowed to visit Czechoslovakia. The study is based on the research of new primary sources in several archives in the Czech republic.
