EAST ASIAN WISDOM IN WESTERN MANAGERIAL EDUCATION
Original language description
The goal of this contribution is to point out the suitability of extending Western managerial education by parts relating to traditional East Asian thinking, values, and selected mind control techniques such as meditation and yoga. There are several important reasons for this contribution. Despite increasingly intensive globalization there are frequent misunderstandings in teams composed of workers from Western and Eastern cultures. These are often caused by differences in key values and ways of thinking. Being aware of these differences, and especially of what conditions well-being and happiness in different cultures, may contribute to better mutual understanding.
