Космологические мотивы в творчестве Симеона Полоцкого. На материале богословских, гомилетических и поэтических произведений книжника
Original language description
The paper focuses on the cosmological motifs in the works of one of the most prominent scholars of seventeenth-century Muscovy, Simeon Polockij. Cosmological motifs and artistic imagery were an important part of the aesthetic, theological and ideological concepts of the author and can be found in Polockij’s theological treatises, sermons and poetic works. The most complete view of the universe was presented in the theological treatise Venets very (Crown of Faith). The Aristotelian-Ptolemaic universe described in the treatise laid the foundations for the further use of cosmological imagery in the artistic works of Simeon Polockij. The paper explores how Polockij adjusted his cosmological symbolism to his concept of a diligent approach and used his imagery in panegyrics.
