Alcohol Abuse as a Non-Standard Situation in the CareoOf Women in the Preconception Period, During Pregnancy, During Childbirth, and in the Puerperium from the Mother Point of View: A Challenge for Health Literacy Education
Original language description
Problematic alcohol use during childcare is a social pathological phenomenon that reduces the quality of this care and directly threatens the health of the child. Pregnancy and motherhood is not intrinsic motivation for drug addicts to change their behavioural stereotypes. It is a non-standard situation in the care of the woman during the preconception period, the child and the mother during pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period, and its solution should be based on current best practices at a normative level. There is always the best interests of the mother and the child must be taken into account. Numerous studies summarise the risks and negative consequences. This paper reverses the perspective and brings into the debate the perspective of women themselves, which may represent the collisions of these medical discourses. Four electronic databases and citation lists of published papers were searched: PubMed, Embase, CINAHL, and PsycINFO. Understanding women's perspectives are essential for designing the right preventive interventions. In particular, improving the quality of information on alcohol consumption is essential during pregnancy and puerperium.
