Original language description

Relations between Lagrangian structures, metric structures, and semispray connections on a manifold are investigated. Generalized Finsler structures are studied, and a corresponding canonical semispray connection which is both metrical and variational isobtained. This connection generalizes the Levi-Civita connection, and connections appearing in Finsler geometry.
