Comparison of virulence of Bremia lactucae isolates originating from Lactuca sativa and Lactuca serriola.

  • Original language description

Broad variation in virulence was found both in crop and wild pathosystem Lactuca spp. - B. lactucae. Comparison of v-factors frequencies in crop and wild pathosystems showed that there are substantial differences in pathogen populations# structure. In crop pathosystem the highest frequencies were recorded for v-factors matching resistance genes localized in L. sativa cultivars. In wild pathosystem v-factors matching resistance genes either localized or derived from L. serriola prevailed substantially. These results show that the virulence structure of B. lactucae populations originating from crop and wild pathosystem is completely different and there is clear genetic affinity to the original host species. However, transfer of pathogen v-factors betweencrop and wild pathosystem may sometimes occur

  • Czech name

Srovnání virulence izolátů Bremia lactucae pocházejících z Lactuca sativa a Lactuca serriola.
