    The process of thermal decomposition of iron-containing precursors to ferric oxide is known to be dependent on a variety of external factors. We have shown that atomic force microscopy can be useful technique for a monitoring of the particle size changesoccuring during decomposition and to relate sizes of precursor and resulting product.
