Original language description
We investigate a singular mixed second order boundary value problem, which originates from the theory of shallow mambrane caps. We show the existence of a positive solution to the problem by means of a generalized lower and upper functions method involving limiting processes. We illustrate the theory by numerical experiments, in which we used the new version of the polynomial collocation, to approximate solutions of the membrane problems.

Czech description
Vyšetřujeme singulární smíšený okrajový problém druhého řádu, který vzniká v teorii tenkých membrán. Ukazujeme existenci kladného řešení tohoto problému pomocí zobecněné metody horních a dolních funkcí s limitními procesy. Ilustrujeme teorii pomocí numerických experimentů. K aproximaci řešení problémů membrány užíváme novou verzi polynomické kolokace.
