Measurement Uncertainty of Optical Methods for the Measurement of the Geometrical Shape of Objects

  • Original language description

There are various optical methods for the measurement of the geometrical shape of objects. Some of them are suitable for the measurement of the shape of objects with optically smooth surfaces. They are, for example, classical interferometry and phase measuring deflectometry. Other methods are used to measure the shape of objects with optically rough surface as, for example, triangulation. There are also methods that are able to measure the shape of objects with optically smooth as well as optically rough surfaces. As an example of such a method can be mentioned white-light interferometry. In our contribution, we analyze the theoretically available measurement uncertainty of various optical methods for the measurement of the geometrical shape of objects. We look for parameters, on which the measurement uncertainty depends. Substantial features of individual optical measurement methods (geometrical arrangement, optically smooth or rough surface, used light) are compared and their influen
