Potentiation of mitochondrial dysfunction in tumor cells by conjugates of metabolic modulator dichloroacetate with a Pt(IV) derivative of oxaliplatin
Original language description
Toxic effects of new antitumor Pt(IV) derivatives of oxaliplatin containing axial dichloroacetate ligands have been described. The results indicate that mechanism of biological action of these Pt(IV) prodrugs is different from that of conventional oxaliplatin and is connected with the effects on mitochondria, metabolism of glucose and that autophagy is implicated.
