Original language description
The article is focused on the virtual worlds and its use in the education of future mother tongue teachers. Our experiences with working in 3D multiuser virtual environment Second Life are described and analyzed examples of digital artistic practices which are used in the subject New Media and Cyberculture at Faculty of Education and Faculty of Journalism at Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic. During the seminars, students also work on literary topics such it is a collaborative writing in virtual space or playing a role in a virtual theatre in Second Life. It is discussed the impact of this way of teaching by reading electronic hypertexts and hypermedia and use of virtual worlds on changes in student's understanding of literature and on thedevelopment of their key competences like ICT skills and reading literacy.
