Original language description
Psychological research of life satisfaction in teachers has a long tradition in many countries. Satisfaction expresses a certain degree of personal balance, personal happiness and very often personal activity and status within a society. The issue of life satisfaction associated with a profession and work satisfaction is generally understood as a mental condition of an individual characterised by feelings of joy, happiness, self-confidence and optimism towards the subjects and conditions of a specific work environment and own professional results. An optimum combination of life and work satisfaction presents a significant determinant of the teaching profession. The present study focuses on the assessment of the current state of life satisfaction and its components in current teachers in comparison with selected profession groups.
