In the Czech Republic, the concept, definition and understanding of the term 'behavioural disorder' is very broad covering a variety of behaviours from temporary social maladaptation to the behaviour of breaking social and legal norms. Some children experience behavioural problems, referred to as 'behavioural disorders', of serious nature demanding attention. After exhausting all possibilities of preventive education care, these children are subsequently placed under special institutional care facilities. Presumably, their placement in such institutions significantly affects the quality of their lives, especially in the family and school contexts. The paper is focused on school success or failure concerning these children, which is linked to the degreeof their satisfaction at school.
