Self-assessment of Specific Competences Gained during University Studies of English in Relation to Compulsory Teaching Practice
Original language description
The purpose of the research was to find out how students who are future teachers of English assess their specific competences in relation to their first completed compulsory teaching practice. As a research method a non-standardised questionnaire was used. The questionnaire was given to a group of first-year master's students of English at the Faculty of Education in Olomouc, Czech Republic. The research data identified the areas where students of English feel a lack of confidence after completing their first compulsory teaching practice. These findings may prove useful for English language teaching professionals and teacher trainers when preparing and evaluating English teacher training courses.
