Connectivism and ICT Tools: The Opinions and Attitudes of Teachers toward their Use in Education
Original language description
Information and communication technologies now provide a wide range of opportunities for improvement of the educational process, but the constant evolution of information and communications technology, including its implementation in education, places new demands on teachers who have to be prepared to work with modern didactic tools and technologies, and at the same time create appropriate educational materials for such tuition. That is why new demands are placed on the teacher in this modern teaching paradigm and even though the teachers do not necessarily need to be ICT experts, they should be able to make use of them in tuition where their role should be, above all, that of students’ advisor. Based on the aforementioned assumptions, we proceeded to analyze the methods and approaches to the use of ICT tools by the teachers in primary and secondary schools, who implement teaching supported by up-to-date didactic means and digital technologies. The main objective of this research is to describe the current state of the use of ICT tools in the education process at Czech schools, using the methods of educational research. In addition to the main objective, attention was focused also on determining the specific ways of using these tools under real conditions of the educational process. The paper summarizes selected partial results of a project called “Attitudes of Pupils and Teachers toward Educational Content in the Subject of Informatics at Primary and Secondary Schools“. This project was solved in 2017 at the Department of Technical Education and Information Technology at Faculty of Education, Palacký University Olomouc.
