Cooperation between elementary school, educational and psychological counselling centre and parents – qualitative study
Original language description
The present paper focuses on intervention methods aimed at children with behavioural disorders in the first stage of elementary school in the Cuzech Republic (EU). This was achieved by a qualitative approach, which uses the methods of observation and interview to analyse whether cooperation between school, educational and psychological counselling centre and parents supports the inclusion of children in the first stage of elementary schools with behavioural disorders. The objective of the paper was to identify and describe the benefits of cooperation between elementary school and educational and psychological counselling centre. The study was performed by means of a qualitative survey. The data collection method was observation of children with behavioural disorders in the first stage of elementary school and semi-structured interviews with their teachers, special education teacher, psychologist in the local educational and psychological counselling centre, and parents. The results of the research suggested that in this case the cooperation between teachers, counsellors and parents did not support inclusion of children with behavioural disorders. According to the teachers, cooperation with the educational and psychological counselling centre was ineffective.
