Chess domination problems
Original language description
It is very important to develop combinatorial skills of pupils aged 6-11. A board game can be attractive and useful tool to achieve this goal. Chess is one of the most popular games, more than 600 million people around the world know chess rules. Combinatorial skills can be developed not only by playing chess games or by solving chess diagrams, but also by solving some mathematical chess problems. We will focus on the domination problems in our paper. In contrast to the classic chessboard 8×8, we will use a smaller 4×4 and 6×6 chessboard, respectively, to make chess domination problems more accessible to pupils aged 6 to 11.
