MOTOR SKILLS IN RELATION WITH PERCEPTUAL MATURITY IN FIRST GRADERS

  • Original language description

Motor skills have been lately researched from many perspectives, hardly ever are monitored separately. Our main focus is to know whether motor skills also affect reading and writing skills on the background of perceptual maturity in elementary school children. The main aim of the research is to assess if children with higher levels of motor skills have a higher level of perceptual maturity and readiness to read. For this pilot research were chosen 95 children from first grades of ordinary elementary schools in Czech Republic.
