This article examines the critical role of the counselling system in diagnosing and supporting primary school pupils with specific learning disabilities (SLD). It highlights the importance of early identification, individualized interventions, and collaboration among counsellors, teachers, parents, and external specialists. The study identifies challenges and successes in current practices, emphasizing the need for specialized training and a unified approach to resource allocation. Recommendations include enhancing partnerships with external specialists and integrating technology-based tools to improve support and communication. The findings aim to strengthen the counselling system's responsiveness to the evolving needs of pupils with SLD. The research is co-funded by the IGA_PdF_2024_019 project.
