Past Forward:Reimagining Early Music through the Digital Medium
Original language description
Digitisation is reshaping the way we study, teach and perform medieval and Renaissance music. This two-day conference brings together researchers, performers and educators to explore how digital technologies both enrich and challenge the field of early music. Innovative tools and methodologies are allowing new forms of interaction with historical sources, offering fresh perspectives for musicology and historically informed performance. Digital integration in the classroom also creates powerful ways to connect students with early music traditions. At the same time, ethical and legal questions arise. What are the responsibilities involved in sharing and preserving cultural heritage digitally? And how does digital mediation affect our understanding of the past? Through case studies, projects and discussions, this conference invites critical reflection and forward-thinking exchange.
