Tourism is an important economic branch that supports the development of connected areas, export activities as well as the development of domestic regions. In spite of its indisputable importance the responsibility for the development in individual destinations is not clearly determined in many countries. The whole range of authors inclines to the opinion that managing tourist destinations has to be legislatively adjusted; functions as well as a clear organization structure have to be set. The development of tourism in developed tourist destinations is dealt with by destination management that implements activities leading to increasing the efficiency of demand and offer. Considering strong mutual competition and possible substitutions among individualtourist destinations the use of destination management is an inevitable and also key precondition for the success of a destination and its assertion on the market.
