The purpose of this paper is to point out relationship between process innovations and product innovations in the context of industry life-cycle and sequentially apply this relationship to analysis of furniture industry in Czech Republic. Each stages ofindustry life-cycle can be described by a number of characteristics including the type of innovative activities. In the early stages of industry development, product innovations are very important but over the time product innovations becomes less important, and on the contrary process innovations start to be more important (in the mature stage). According to this characteristic, furniture industry in Czech Republic occurs in the maturity stage in their industry life-cycle.
