    A new web-server for local DNA structures analyses

  • Original language description

    Local DNA structures play an important role in the regulation of basic biological processes. Computational approaches to study local DNA structures have allowed detailed analysis of DNA sequences. However, the number of easily accessible and user-friendly tools that can analyse various local DNA structures, especially among long nucleotide sequences, is limited. We have developed a web-based server, DNA analyser, which is a user-friendly application for analysing local DNA structures. At first we implemented a tool for analyses of inverted repeats in various nucleic acids sequences including genome sequences and oligonucleotides. It allows users to search and retrieve desired gene/nucleotide sequence entries from the NCBI databases, and provides data on length, sequence, locations and energy required for cruciform formation. Contemporary we have included new tools for analyses of quadruplex-forming sequences - a web-version of the G4hunter algoritm, as well as a tool for the searching of p53 target sequences. DNA analyser also features an interactive graphical data representation of the distribution of local DNA structures and options for sorting and exports.
