    The impact of social networks on conspicuous food consumption - comparison of Generations Z, X, and Y

  • Original language description

    This paper examines the evolution of conspicuous consumption (CC) and its relationship to the influence of social media, particularly among Generation Z, Generation Y and Generation X. The research collected data in the Czech Republic and identified factors such as sensitivity to others, social media activity, sustainability, materialism, price, quality, and personality expression that influence CC. While social networks influence the consumption choices of Generation Z, the direct relationship with CC remains unclear across generations, raising the need for qualitative research. The study offers food marketers insights into the factors that influence consumers&apos; food choices, helping them to develop tailored marketing strategies.
