    From overload to artificial intelligence. Mapping the determinants of technostress in modern work environments

    This paper explores the determinants of technostress in digitally intensive work environments, with a focus on how demographic and organizational factors influence employees&apos; experiences of digital strain, work-life balance, and attitudes toward artificial intelligence. Based on a quantitative survey of 163 respondents across various sectors, the study employs validated scales to measure five key techno-stressors: overload, invasion, complexity, insecurity, and uncertainty. The findings reveal that age, technological proficiency, perceived workplace support, and remote work status significantly affect technostress levels and related outcomes. Notably, higher tech-savviness correlates with more favorable attitudes toward AI, while insufficient support and increased exposure to technology predict poorer work-life balance and heightened stress. Conversely, gender and education were not found to significantly influence technostress. The results underscore the importance of systemic strategies - beyond individual coping - for managing digital demands and fostering organizational resilience in the age of AI.
