Effect of longitudinal bisection of Norway spruce zygotic embryos on polyembryonic culture induction and 2.4-D uptake and metabolism
Original language description
The ripe zygotic embryos are mostly used for polyembryogenic culture induction in Norway spruce. The injury of embryos could increase the frequency of early somatic embryo formation (von Arnold 1987). As the presence of an auxin, especially 2.4-D, is essential for an embryonic pattern formation in Norway spruce (Chalupa 1985) the effect of longitudinal bisection of zygotic embryos was studied with regard to uptake and metabolism of 2.4-D.
