Original language description

Long-term storage of high quality lots of malting barley for gradual consumption is one of the possibilities how to ensure the uniform grain quality for malting. The analysis shows that the long-term storage does not result in a marked decrease of the malting barley grain quality in terms of the observed parameters; on the contrary, in some parameters the initial values were improved. The quality development during the storage can be assumed on the basis of the regression equations and initial grain quality. The significant parameter of malting barley quality was germination energy. It reached following values for the beginning and for the end of storage in variety Akcent 99.2 % and 94.0 %, in variety Kompakt 98.2 % and 99.8 %, in variety Krona 97.2 %and 94.3 %, and in variety Olbram 97.7 % and 94.3 %.
