Selection indices for beef ( IBP) and milk ( IMP) production were based on assesed breeding values ( BV) from 385 Czech Spotted bulls born between 1989 and 1993. Complete data were available for all bulls with regard to BV for milk and beef production. Iaccount in the construction of complex indices ( CSI). Crrelation coefficients were used to assess the relationship between original BV and suggested indices. A high correlation was found between a BV for net weight gain and the index for beef productionSimilarly high correlations were calculated for CSI and the BV for net weight gain ( r=0,50) or between CSI and the BV for dressing percentage. Very low, close to zero, correlations were found between BV for milk protein ( kg) and the BV for net weight gBV for dressing percentage ( r=0,03). Zero or negative correlations were found between the BV for dressing percentage and the BV for production of milk fet or protein in kg. The index of beef production ( IBP) is expressed in this eqution
