Effect of different soil tillage systems and crop residue management on grain yield and quality in spring barley.
Original language description
In the years 2002 - 2004 the effect of different soil tillage systems and crop residue management on yield and quality of spring barley following sugar-beet, grain maize and winter wheat was valuated. The results suggested the suitability of shallow cultivation for spring barley following winter wheat and sugar-beet (shallow incorporation in the soil of winter wheat straw and sugar-beet tops). In spring barley follows grain maize appears to be more efficient turning under of maize straw by ploughing. With shallow incorporation of crop residues, there was also a positive effect of the preparation BETA-LIQ (promoting breakdown of organic substances), which resulted in higher yields of spring barley after winter wheat. Some effect also evident in spring barley following sugar-beet and grain maize.
