Utilization of Pietrain boars with intended genotype of RYR1 gene for production of final hybrid pigs
Original language description
The aim was to quatify influence of fathers' genotype in RYR1 gene on carcass of pigs. The amount of 597 slaughter pigs comming from cross breeding (Czech Large White x Czech Landrace) x Pietrain, fatten up in common conditions of large-capacity pig-farmwas slaughtered, weighted and measured and evaluated by FOM applience. According to fathers' genotype slaughter pigs were sorted out in groups of homozygous dominant genotype, heterozygous genotype and homozygous recessive genotype. The heaviest carcassand the highest fleshiness reached pigs with nn genotype, who had the thinnest layer of meat at the same time. The highest fat depth and carcass lenght reached pigs with heterozygous genotype and the lowest value of pH1 at the same time. The differencesbetween these qualities among particular groups were statistically significant. The results suggest possibilities of use proper boar Pietrain genotype gene RYR1 to produce quality slaughter pigs.
