Arabinoxylan and beta-Glucan Content in Grain of Selected Winter Barley Varieties
Original language description
Barley beta-glucans and arabinoxylans are a limiting factor for use of its caryopses. The effect of genotype, treatment, locality and interactions on variance of arabinoxylans and beta-glucans was assessed in a set of four varieties, grown at three locations in two different growing systems. Among genotypes and treatment average contents of arabinoxylans varied from 4.14 % to 5.35 %, beta-glucans contents varied from 3.61 % to 5.06 %. Varieties with good feed, malting as well as food quality were distinguished.
