Single Nucleotide Polymorphism of IBSP Gene and Physiological Bone Parameters Relationship in Laying Hens

  • Original language description

The aim of the study was to find out if there is an association between bone physiological parameters and A211G polymorphism in gene for bone sialoprotein (IBSP). In experiment, 101 ISA Brown laying hens were used. PCR - RFLP method was used for polymorphism genotyping. The three-point bending test was applied to measure bone strength. Bone diameter and bone marrow diameter were assessed using Vernier caliper. Results was evaluated by one-way ANOVA with Fisher LSD post-hoc testing. There were found no significant differences between the genotypes. Single nucleotide polymorphisms in intron 4 IBSP gene in position A211G had no effect on femur characteristics of ISA Brown laying hens.
