Determination of genetic stability of early somatic embryo cultures of Picea abies L. Karst. using RAPD markers
Original language description
The most promising biotechnological method of conifer multiplication seems to be somatic embryogenesis and polyembryogenesis. It now appears that all conifers and probably most of gymnosperms can be cloned be these methods. The ultimate goal of any micropropagation systém is to preserve indefinitely genetic stability of a unique genotype in culture. We used the RAPD markers for the characterisation of Norway spruce early somatic embryo clones derived in our laboratory as well as for the estimation of their genetic stability during the culture period.
