Original language description
Transgenic tobacco plants expressing cytokinin-glucoside-specific beta-glucosidase gene and control plants were analysed for their phytohormone gradients. Transgenic plants were selected according to their beta-glucosidase activity. The phytohormone levels were determinated in the basal, central and apical part of the plants, separately in leaves and internodes. The IAA level in the internodes of the apical part of transgenic plants was significantly higher compared to control plants.
