Modelling climate change impacts on maize and wheat growth and development
Original language description
Crop growth models CERES-Maize and CERES-Wheat were used to simulate crop growth in present and changed climate conditions. The input daily weather series (precipitation, solar radiation and extreme air temperatures) were synthesised by stochastic weather generator Met&Roll whose parameters were derived from observed weather series and then modified in accordance with climate change scenario. The scenarios related to 50% and 100% increase of atmospheric CO2 are based on ECHAM GCM model. The contributionconsists of two parts: 1) Parameterization and Validation of CERES-Maize and CERES-Wheat growth models 2) Modelling crop yields for prognosed climatic conditions.
