In the Czech Republic the share of agriculture in the gross national income is only 2.5%, the number of people involved in agriculture has decreased considerably. The input prices are markedly higher but not the prices of agricultural products. Many farms are facing serious economic problems and this is also reflected in the degradation of soil fertility.
